Ups and Downs at Cadwell for McAleer
It was a weekend of ups and downs for Omagh teenager Nicole McAleer, the weekend started well on Thursday for the teenager when she received her much awaited GCSE results, which she passed and she can now continue to focus on her racing until September when she continues with her education.
After the ups of receiving the grades she wanted in her exams, she hit a low in the opening day of testing at the Lincolnshire Cadwell Park track when she was thrown off her SP 125 Racing Honda, thankfully despite damaging her helmet the teenager was unhurt, although her confidence was dented.
When it came to qualifying on Saturday afternoon the teenager was still struggling slightly having lost some valuable testing time on Friday after the crash, but she did enough to ensure that she qualified.
McAleer got off to a flying start in the race on Sunday afternoon and was soon up into the top 25, were she continued to run until the last lap were she eventually finished up in 21st place overall, that was enough for her to secure tenth place in the Academy Cup, where she continues to maintain ninth place.
To follow her progress at Croft on the 14th September and throughout the season checkout her website blog or through the SP125 Racing team website, www.sp125racing.com
