McAleer tests in the snow
Easter testing at Snetterton was more like a Winter Wonderland scene from Christmas instead of Easter. Unfortunately due to the unseasonal weather, Nicole McAleer only got limited testing time on Saturday and no track time on Sunday, due to the heavy overnight snow falls.
Testing was able to get underway until after 2pm on Sunday afternoon but it was too late for McAleer who was already on her way home. However she did manage to put in quite a few laps on Saturday, although none of which was lap record pace due to the icy cold weather, but the time on track allowed her to familiarise herself with the track for the Snetterton British Superbike Championship race in June.
McAleer said; “It was so cold out there, and the wind was lifting the bike down at the Esses.” Despite the disappointment of not getting much track time, she is now looking forward to the opening round of the Championship at Brands Hatch in less than a fortnight’s time on April 4th – 6th.
